Learning “Ouch”
From early on, Alexis began teaching Bunny concepts in order to be able to communicate with her. When night Alexis came home after getting a tattoo done, it was clear that Bunny was curious about the new addition on her skin. It was good that Alexis had an “ouch” button, and that’s how she taught Bunny to communicate the concept of pain.
Aided Augmentative and Alternative Communication
The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, various augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) are labeled as either aided or unaided. Unaided AAC systems are used with body movements like motion, facial expressions, sign language. Meanwhile assisted systems incorporate external assistance from technology.
