While Boris says that attempting to open the Sphinx in the incorrect method will cause the information to be lost, he also claims to know exactly how to open it. According to Boris, the opening mechanism is located right behind the ear, and he also claims to be able to read the language that the information is written in. If humanity is to survive, he claims, he must be allowed to open it.
