Technology is constantly improving. While it is too often used to kill, there are plenty of other technologies that are evolving right alongside weapons of war. One such technology is radar imaging. This allows scientists to look inside of objects and even inside of the Earth from satellites in orbit. This same technology was used to prove the existence of lakes underneath the Martian poles.

The same technology has been used on Earth to discover ruins that we had no idea even existed. In South America, for example, hundreds of Mayan ruins have been discovered in areas that have previously been surveyed on foot. The surveyors walked right past them without ever even seeing them. It forces you to wonder what else is hidden on our planet. There is still so much that we do not know about our own home planet or our own past.
